Why is shipping so expensive?
Unfortunately shipping from our homebase in Canada costs a lot. While we are always looking at ways to reduce this cost at the moment, the calculated shipping rates at checkout are the best we can do.

What size are the boundary lines?
The boundary lines are adjustable to whatever court size you want! Each section has a buckle to change the length. At full length, your court will be 9 m from the center to one of the corners. At the smallest possible size 4.5 m.
To help, there are colour coded markings on each section of line. Adjust the buckle over the yellow mark for a 8.5 m court, or the red mark for a 7.5 m court. The same colour on the measuring line will help you ensure each corner is the correct distance from the center.
Why isn't the boundary a circle? Will I notice a difference?
Unfortunately maintaining a circle at the size needed for the boundary is very difficult. We believe an octagon strikes the perfect balance of form, function, and ease of set up. When all players are playing on the same boundaries, the consistency removes any perceived problems with it not being a circle.
While it may seem like a big difference to have more distance from the net to each vertex than the edges, in practice this hardly effects gameplay. Everyone is on the same court with the same boundaries and aiming for the line is not as viable a strategy as in volleyball or racquet sports.
Overall, once you give it a try you will very quickly see that a clear, vibrant line is significantly better than an invisible line between cones. Not to mention how quickly the lines pay for themselves if you consider the cost of a consumable to paint the boundary instead.
What size is the No Hit Zone?
The NHZ has 100cm radius to align with the latest rules published by the International Roundnet Federation.
Will I trip on the No Hit Zone?
Our NHZ has been fine-tuned to be just the right balance of rigid and flexible. It will always hold its shape of a perfect circle, however if your foot does get caught on it, it does not pull and trip you.
After just a few games, your footwork will adjust to space your steps and it will never be problem

I read the above answer and still think it's a tripping hazard.
Still not convinced? No worries. Just grab a pair of scissors and cut out the connecting lines. This has a few adverse effects:
- It will not hold a perfect circle as easily. You may need to lift it off the ground if it gets kicked or stepped on to correct it from being lopsided.
- The set's feet no longer have marked positions to keep it perfectly centered. This also means the NHZ does not have the weight of the set to anchor it in place. It will move around when stepped on or kicked.
We have tested this and it works pretty well! However, we believe the connecting lines are very easy to get used to. Just need to give it a fair chance.
Note: If you choose to cut out the connecting lines you will void your warranty against manufacturing defects. Be very careful to not cut the fabric encasing the outer rim and only cut the connecting line.
Will this equipment work on the beach or turf?
For artificial turf the boundary lines need a weight to anchor them in place as the ground stakes will not work. To plan for this, the ground stakes are easily removeable. While there are many options for weights, we sell a set of 8 bags which each hold 3.5kg of sand and easily attach to the steel rings at each corner.
For sand the included ground stakes work great. If you are having trouble getting them to be secure, dig until you reach compact wet sand, then drive the stake while rotating it in a circle to get deep more easily. Make sure the stake is angled toward the center of the court, then cover it completely with sand.
As the No Hit Zone is held down by the weight of the set, it works on all surfaces easily with any Spikeball or Premier Spike set.
How long does it take to set up?
Once you have the process down, setting up boundary lines takes about 5min if you're doing it solo. If you need to adjust the lines to a different size than the last time they were used, this adds a bit more. Having an extra set of hands helps to untwist the lines as you go and also reduces the time.
Checkout this video of an uncut setup while dealing with our imperfect handmade prototype lines, adjusting to 7.5m, and a ruptured Achilles. It took just under 8 min with all that. Others have done it solo in just 4min.
Will the serving markers stay put?
The markers are made from a non-slip material. Make sure you have the smooth side facing down as this will give it the most grip. The dotted side gives players grip when stepping on it.
While the markers are very good at laying flat and staying put when stepped on, there is a chance for a foot to kick it up during an intense rally. We have two suggestions:
- On grass, use a circle top landscaping stake to hold it in place. Stick it through the rubber straight into the ground. These can be bought for very cheap in most dollar or hardware stores.
- Keep your measuring line staked to the center bundled up beneath the net. As the serving markers aren't needed during a rally, ignore them if they get kicked up and at the end of the point quickly reposition it with the measuring line.
When will products begin shipping?
All our products aside from the No Hit Zone are currently in production and should be ready to ship out to customers in early October.
The No Hit Zone design is ready to go. Once the size has been finalized by the International Roundnet Federation, production will begin. Expect NHZs to ship 45-60 days after the rules are published.
Why do the products look different in every picture?
All images and videos are of handmade prototypes used for testing and validation. Some will have only minor changes from the final product such as the Boundary Lines. Others like the NHZ and serving markers will be the same materials with a more optimal size and shape. See the product page for a list of what the final changes are.
Are products covered by a warranty?
All our products are backed by a 1 year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Our final prototypes are using the same materials as production. They have all endured 2 months of hard use 6 or more hours every week! These things are built to last for sure.
See our full warranty policy here.
