About Us

Roundnet Equipment is a solo endeavor supported by many friends, family, and the Roundet community in the Greater Toronto Area. Starting with the first Toronto Roundnet Club leagues in Summer 2021, it was clear that the equipment did not exist to support the full ruleset of the game. Spraying lines for serving and the NHZ immediately felt like a poor solution.

Prototypes began with serving markers and score keepers, leading into the no hit zone in later years as the league started to become more competitive. After a significant number of iterations trying all sorts of crazy materials and ideas, the gear is ready.

All our equipment is designed and manufactured to be easy to use and durable to last YEARS of heavy use. I hope you join us in bringing this incredible sport to people all over the globe.

Our Mission

Grow Roundnet worldwide by increasing accessibility through equipment.

When someone falls in love with Roundnet and wants to take their game up a notch they quickly run into a bunch of questions:

"What's the proper serving distance?"
"What's a no hit zone?"
"How do we mark them?"

That question is what led us to begin exploring solutions when organizing the first Toronto Roundnet league. Our location did not allow spray paint or chalk and the environmental impact (not to mention the recurring financial impact) was not appealing.

Painted lines for the NHZ, serving circle and outer boundary will always have their pros. Our equipment is intended to give two major benefits: accessibility and reusability.

Accessibility

Anyone should be able to have lines for serving, boundary and NHZ anywhere and anytime they play. This also allows use on surfaces that do not allowing painting such as turf fields, sand on the beach and indoor gymnasiums. By creating simple to use solutions more players will be able to play with, practice with, and just experience the sport with its full competitive ruleset earlier than their first organized tournament or community pick up. This removes a huge barrier and the shock-factor of players going from casual to competitive.

Reusability

Rather than needing a highly consumable resource such as spray paint which has a recurring cost, our equipment allows high reuse with environmental and sustainability benefits. Our 6 pre-production NHZ and 4 pre-production boundary lines were all used for 6 hours of league play a week from May-August and held up beautifully. Additionally, the few areas that did show wear in that time have been reinforced for increased durability in the production runs. While the upfront cost may be higher, players can easily calculate the number of uses it takes to pay for itself versus their current go-to consumable. There is also the benefit of not needing to re-paint lines during play. Our equipment stays vibrant and highly visible even on muddy rainy days.
