As our first packages have gone out and been delivered, some of our American customers were hit with very large import fees which were unexpected and understandably upset.
These are unfortunately unavoidable due to the removal of the de minimis rule and the current U.S. tariffs of 35% on all imports from Canada.
We have made some changes in our shipping strategy. The shipping fees at checkout will include brokerage fees and duties for all future orders. This means while you will be charged more at checkout, there will be NO additional import fees. While these costs are unideal, this is the best we can do in the current political landscape with excess tariffs and the removal of the de minimis rule. It is expensive, however we believe it is better to have these costs clear and upfront, rather than being hit with a surprise $50+ charge later.
We are doing as much as possible to keep base shipping costs low. Please note that as of now the price of shipping you will see at checkout is:
base shipping + brokerage fees + duties + taxes
